Since I have decided to take this summer off (or what's left of it) to play housewife I have been able to get some wedding work done too. Somewhere around scrubbing the bathtub and keeping up with the dishwasher I have actually managed to get some more planning done. A few updates for you: Number one - We have sent our engagement announcements out to 4 different newspapers. They include the Clearwater Tribune (Orofino), The Spokesman-Review (Spokane), the Chronicle (Omak), and the Post-Dispatch (St. Louis). I know that the Orofino paper will run our announcement on July 8th and the rest are whenever those news folks feel like it. I had some technical difficulties when posting to the Post-Dispatch so I still need to call them to make sure they even got the announcement. Otherwise, be on the lookout. Matt's and my smiling face may pop up at any time (except in the Spokesman; they don't print engagement photos).
Number two - I am researching photographers. I have done quite a bit of work on pricing and trying to find someone who is affordable and takes a decent picture. Not as easy as it should be. I know this is the next thing that needs to get finished because these guys get booked up pretty quickly. If anyone knows of a good photographer in the Spokane area then let me know. I'm hoping to have this finished and get someone hired relatively quickly.
Number three - This is the most exciting part. Matt and I chose our save-the-date cards and invitations. They are very cute and I can't wait to see them. I was considering ordering them today but am now waiting to see if they will send me a preview card first. I know that how they look online and how they look in real life could be completely different and I don't want to order a hundred plus cards that turn out completely cheap looking and be disappointed. The company is vistaprint. I have ordered from them before and been happy so I'm feeling pretty confident in our decision.
That's about the extent of the planning so far. I know it's a far cry from being finished but I'm feeling pretty good about the progress we've made. Only 11 months to go!
